I've finished a new pet portrait of gorgeous Louie. What a model. I really enjoyed painting this bespoke portrait of this bunny.

How I choose the photo?

Choosing the perfect photo for a portrait is so important. Getting the right lighting, details and sparkling character across is key. I love getting to hear about the pets charming personality and cheeky ways. It helps bring them to life!

Where do I start?

Studying the photo is where it all begins. Choosing the orientation of the art, how and where the painting will finish. Do I keep all the features in? Should I add some grass or the keep the lead and collar? There's so many questions!

Once I've made a plan, I create a faint outline and start creating the foundation lines with my favourite pencil, 3B!
